If you haven't yet heard of the new series Syfy has picked up, Alphas, then consider this your chance.  This is a series that has been laying around for a few years, and comes from screenwriter Zak Penn (X-men 3) and Michael Karnow.  ABC snatched the series up back in 2007, but after the writers strike and the new genre fears most of the major networks seem to be having, it got thrown on the shelf.  That is until Syfy pulled it out and renamed the show Alphas. What is it?  I'd love to describe it as everything Heroes should have been, and nothing Heroes became, but the truth is the verdict is still out on this show.  Back in 2007, when the show was still dubbed Section 8, The…

FlashForward may have met its demise rather early for such a hyped up event, but the main star, Joseph Fiennes appears to be ready to jump back into television again.  Soon, Fiennes will star in the upcoming Starz series, Camelot.  Fiennes spoke via satelite from the Dublin set for the Television Critics Association on August 7, joking about his most recently cancelled series. "I felt like I went through a series of blackouts for 2 minutes and 17 seconds, woke up and the whole landscape had changed again.  Here I was in a Celtic countryside. Who knows? It's a topsy-turvy world, isn't it? It's exciting, exhilarating, I'm passionate and loved my time with FlashForward and all the wonderful people I met with and worked with there. It was hugely ambitious,…

This December I will have a new BBC obsession. A few days ago I heard that Jamie Bramber of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA was going to star in a new space western series on BBC called OUTCASTS. These images have just been released, and although they don't show us much this description has me curious: "It's the story of a group of individuals who are given the chance to build a new life on another planet, and across eight episodes, we'll be getting a show that looks like Britain taking a stab at a cross between Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek (the inclusion of BSG's Jamie Bamber in the cast helps with the comparison, certainly). When the show starts, this group of pioneers will have lost contract with Earth, and all sorts…

As TORCHWOOD fans wait in agony for the new season, TORCHWOOD: THE NEW WORLD to begin filming in January, we can't help but speculate on what is in store for Captain Jack, Gwen, and Rhys after the cataclysmic and heart-breaking ending that we got in CHILDREN OF EARTH. Well Russel T. Davies stopped by the Television Critics Association fall press tour to talk about that. With TORCHWOOD's return, Davies promises 6 things that will completely alter the TORCHWOOD experience. 1) There's an event that will take 10 episodes to deal with: "It's far more complicated than just a monster," Davies said. "I think it's a brilliant idea, and when you hear it, it will make sense and you'll see how big it is. It could hae filled 20 hours." Fans…

I won't lie. A couple years ago when I went on my STARGATE SG-1 binge I instantly fell in love with Ben Browder in season 9. I liked his swagger and devil may care attitude. When my STARGATE obsession finally ended, I sought out FARSCAPE and was reintroduced to the Jim Henson puppeteering that made my childhood so magical. Suffice to say, every experience I've had with Browder has been one of absolute joy. He has firmly been locked in as one of my favorite unsung actors, and I will support him in his every endeavor. Browder's next project will probably have me as hooked like all the rest. NAUGHT FOR HIRE is a web-series, that tells the story of Nick Naught, a private investigator in the year 2030. The series will…

The next DCU animated feature film on the release list is an adaptation of BATMAN: UNDER THE RED HOOD, which is one of the greatest Batman stories ever told (at list in this humble blogger’s opinion.) The film will feature such Talent as Neil Patrick Harris (Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-Long Blog), Jensen Ackles (Supernatural), and Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek).  Below is a trailer for the upcoming film, and it looks pretty cool. Check it out!

It looks like TORCHWOOD has been saved from the fate of an unfair cancellation by Fox. The DOCTOR WHO spin-off has been picked up by Starz- the network that is hard at work trying to revamp it’s image, most recently with the violent and decadent SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND. The good news is that the principle cast is returning along with Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner as executive producers. The better news is that the new series will likely take advantage of Starz pay-channel status and become edgier. The producers also say that they want to broaden the series scope on a more international scale. I don’t know about you guys, but this definitely means I need to add Starz to my cable package. TORCHWOOD is about Captain Jack…

If you watched the new Syfy comedy series Outer Space Astronauts last week and fell in love with the hilariously dry and witty comedy we have something special for you. Below is a sneak peak at next week's (Tuesday, Dec. 15) two new episodes. The first episode is titled Of Cannibals and Cuddlepuffs and the sneak peak features the news from Captain Ripley that he has mono and is putting Operations Officer Donna Kennedy in charge of the ship, instead of his second in command, ensuring that Commander Amos, the only capable person on the ship, is always second fiddle. The synopsis is below: As Ripley battles a serious case of mono, Sunny adopts a seemingly loveable and cuddly smelling “pet” onto the ship. Brimley and Matheson attempt to rescue…

My Eyes Fall Gently Shut
It’s strange the things you think about in the end. I know the odds of survival for a young man in my position are considered to be quite high. The odds for a man my age? Considerably lower. Somewhere in the area of one in one million, I imagine. I can’t help but picture one million men—all decked out in the same preposterously bulky suits—stretched out alongside me, trailing out for mile...
